The Best Friends Animal Society works with shelters
and rescue groups nationwide to bring about a time when there will be no more homeless pets. Best Friends operates the nation’s largest sanctuary for homeless
animals and provides adoption, spay/neuter and educational programs and publishes “Best Friends”, the nation’s largest general-interest animal magazine.
Since 1877, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals Los Angeles (spcLA) has provided for the well-being of animals in
Southern California. spcaLA receives no government funding, nor
is there a national “SPCA” or humane society that provides support.
Donations run programs like Animal Protection Services, Humane
Education and a variety of shelter services.
